Heathrow has expanded well beyond its design capacity. It is time to take stock and realise that the airport is causing massive disturbance and inconvenience to London residents and there are modern and viable alternatives to meet the city's and region's needs.

Expansion is detrimental and dangerous to London increasing the possibilities of crashes eg: helicopters as well as airliners over the city. Expansion should be diverted to regional airports to improve links to other centers. Why would anyone wish to land at Heathrow when going to Leeds, Birmingham or Exeter it would not happen in any other developed county. Would you fly to Mumbi instead of Calcutta?

As well as not expanding Heathrow, flights in and out should be limited to 0800 - 2100 daily. The noise of flights taking off and landing during the night interrupts sleep and as a consequence is a danger to health.

Please do not expand Heathrow Aiport - there is enough hardship for people living under the flightpath already.

Time to think outside the box. UK needs better airports in different locations with much better transport links.

No expansion of Heathrow. Better rail travel between airports instead.

I have seen no reasonable arguments that show that the advantages outweigh the cost and environmental impact on hundreds of thousands of Londoners. I believer this is "development" for the benefit of large contractors.

Heathrow isnot a suitable place for a major airport at all, and certainly should not be expanded with a third runway. There are several possible alternatives, which should be explored urgently.

I am truly appalled at the prospect of airport expansion at Heathrow. I am woken most mornings by the sound of planes crashing through the sky as they apply the brakes in preparation for landing. I already suffer from asthma and the thought of more pollution in the air is truly depressing.

I believe that no-one now would consider siting an airport where Heathrow now is. It should be unthinkable now to add another runway, particularly if some are now even suggesting that a fourth runway will be 'needed' before very long. Stick to your original opposition, Prime Minister, to this further imposition on the people in the area

A third runway would be intolerable, we suffer badly from aircraft noise. Pollution must be huge, but we are not told. Either share the pain with Gatwick (2nd runway) and Stanstead or look again at a long term solution away from centres of population.

At the last Enquiry, we were promised this would be the last expansion at Heathrow. The environs around Heathrow are much, much too built up to destroy the wellbeing of the residents - We have rights too!

As a family with young children I can't believe they are consisting the Heathriw expansion. The noise disruption is already substantial and if these plans are allowed to proceed we will be devastated!

The expansion of the aireport has several flaws the least of which is the impact on the wildlife habitats in the area. The poor use of the current airport system in the UK needs to be addressed, rather then just trying to build more in the south east. E.G Expand the airports and capacity in Northern England would help grow the economy there where there are areas of housing going empty, thus reduing the need to build more housing in the south east. Its all linked. The Concervative Gov need to look into these sorts of solutions more.

No more Heathrow expansion and ban night flights properly. I grew up under the landing flight path (SW13) and the planes have got lower in the sky and are now constant. The night flight ban stops at 4am and wakes me up (in SW13). I currently live under the take off flight path and greatly fear having to suffer more planes in the sky here too.
