The damage caused to our environment with this latest decision will be extreme. Let's try to do what we can to limit the damage for future generations. It's not always about the money. We need to think about sustainable solutions that will stop wrecking our climate and environment, not just nationally but across the globe. Let's do our bit.

Where possible, please can I encourage people to sign up to other petitions. Just because forums seem to oppose the 3rd runway, unfortunately some of them are merely smokescreens.

The decision for the runway would feed exactly into the current trend of environmental decline, see the Living Planet Reopt!

I want to be able to keep my kids' windows open in summer when they go to sleep, I already have to close them sometimes to keep aircraft noise out & don't want to have to do it more than I already do.

New runway will cause absolute misery and health problems for thousands of West london residents and should never be allowed to be built

This is shocking treatment of the thousands of people that will be negatively impacted and in many cases be uprooted with their lives ripped apart all for the sake of economy.

Disgraceful that government has so little regard for people and history. Gatwick would be a much better option being less disruptive and costing less.

Shocking betrayal by this govt. Expansion at Heathrow puts an unjustified ADDITIONAL intolerable burden on this already blighted region. Absolutely nothing Grayling said to justify the inappropriate Heathrow decision withstands scrutiny. He merely sent a “clear message” to foreign investors (especially Heathrow’s) that their interests will be protected “at any cost” (even the health & well-being of citizens & their children). 'A country that works for everyone'? This 'country' won't be worth living in with even more pollution, congestion & noise on top of what we have to endure already. ‘Quality of life’ means NOTHING to these sociopathic egomaniacs.
