It is intolerable that the people of West London should have to endure the massive extra noise and pollution a thiird runway would bring. It is not even necessary to have a third runway, especially in the heart of a residential area. If it is necessary, an alternative should be consiered such a Stanstead or a new airport in the estuary.

Heathrow is busy enough already. Take a leaf out of Hong Kong's book and build an island in the sea.

More planes over London will increase the risk of a potential air crash in a densely populated area.

Expansion of Heathrow should simply not be an option. Aircraft noise is already at unacceptable levels and Londoners should not be subjected to any more. Tourist's visiting our World Heritage Site at Kew Gardens already think its unbelievable that our airports should be allowed to create such a blight across our city. Also expanding Heathrow would only be a short term fix. Building a new transport hub out of the city with good links back into London is the only forward thinking solution which will be acceptable to Londoners, attract international support and provide room for expansion to suit future transport needs.

The situation is too disruptive as it is. Unless all night flights between 11pm and 7am are banned, this shouldn't even be an option.

I believe an expansion in the east would make more sense than the already overcrowded heathrow.

Intolerable noise, especially in summer months. Potential danger. Terrible congestion on M4/A4. And all this for people who merely wish to change planes at Heathrow.

Expanding Heathrow is not the answer. Within years the prospect of all night flights will be upon us, the polution and noise is already too much. And closing the M25 for at least five years whilst the third runway is beign built is unimaginable. Boris Island is the right choice.

The heathrow expansion is very wriong. See a good argument against it in the Guardian today.
