Faculty member at WCU here. I'm signing in support of the students who are resisting the university as it gives a forum to bigotry and hatred.

I do not want this man and his racist messages in my community. I hope the people of West Chester and surrounding communities chose not to go to his rally. A lack of attention to this man would be the best type of response.

Donald Trump is clearly a bigot. He fits the definition perfectly. That being said, if you support trump, you support everything he stands for, bigotry included.

No one is forcing students to attend the rally. If you disagree with the rally, don't go. WCU is public property, not student property. It is used for all kinds of events that are unrelated to the university. Trump is a presidential candidate and must be treated the same way as any other candidate. Trump's success is the will of the people, which is disturbing, but it's true. The world is full of thoughts and ideas people don't agree with; we can't be sheltered from them all. If you don't like Trump, don't support him and vote on 4/26. That is your responsibility as citizens. It is NOT WCU's job to make sure you never get offended.
