Why barrhaven? We have very low homeless and refugee here? There very little job opportunity here in barrhaven. So many places downtown have support for refugees and homeless. How will they get downtown to get those services?

Asylum Shelter in Barrhaven is not a good option. Barrhaven is a new community with lots of kids, Asylum Shelter could bring different culture, religion and life behaviors into this new community which means bring more unpredictable risks. As a parent of young kid and a resident in Barrhaven, I don’t agree to build Asylum Shelter in this community.

I still do not understand the logic of putting an asylum shelter in the middle of the city. It directly in between the shopping centers and residential area. Experts are determining the location without even consulting with the residents who actually live there. Spending so much of our tax dollars on managing the outcome of a wrong decision instead of changing the decision for a better outcome is appauling.

The infrastructure here in Barrhaven is already being pushed to the limit. It can take 20 minutes to get from Greenbank to Woodroffe on Strandherd, a mere two minute drive, due to excess traffic!!

Before attending to the needs of refugees and/or asylum seekers, please take care of Canadians - Canadian seniors who've paid taxes for years; Canadian children with autism; Canadians who can't afford a full grocery basket.
Too many non-productive/non-contributing people have been offered a home in Canada. We Canadians cannot afford to support them.

Barrhaven is crowded enough. There is no resource to hold more people.
