I am absolutely opposed to having these tents in Barrhaven. My family is already considering moving, this is not the Barrhaven we once loved. If this happens, we will be gone for good

Putting this tent in Barrhaven helps no one, especially not the newcomers to Canada who need access to services such as transit, jobs, medical, legal, etc. Barrhaven already experiences excessive strain to meet the demand of a growing residential neighborhood with an imbalance of available services. Installing the tent in this suburban landscape will only lead to frustration, stagnation and potential instability.

IF LAWMAKERS DECIDE FOR ALL CANADIANS THAT WE SHOULD BRING IN ASYLUM SEEKERS WITHOUT CONSULTATION PLEASE KEEP THEM IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD WITHOUT FORCING THEM ON HARDWORKING PEACE LOVING SAFETY CONSCIOUS RESIDENTS OF BARRHAVEN. HOUSE THEM NOT IN A DISGRACEFUL SHELTER BUT CONVERT ONE OF THE GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS IN DOWNTOWN OTTAWA INTO A MORE HUMANE AND APPROPRIATE SHELTER. WE DO NOT WANT YOU TO DECIDE FOR US AND BURDEN US WITH A SHELTER.

This is a highly residential area in Barrhaven and boasted as a family friendly environment. We do not want a shelter in our midst where kids attend schools, walking paths get disturbed, security gets strained. Please consider another area of the city and let the residents know how you consider this property - what were the criteria. IN short we do not want the TENT in our backyard.

I am against building a tent in Barrhaven the Sprung Shelter. It is far away from services will wreak havoc and does not make sense.

The lack of thorough consultation with residents and transparent communication around this proposal is deeply concerning. Suburban neighbourhoods should not be expected to shoulder this responsibility when better-equipped locations are available. I strongly urge you to reconsider this decision, taking into account the well-being of both current residents and the asylum seekers who would benefit from easier access to resources downtown.

I kindly request the leadership to respect the voice of the community & find a permanent solution instead of investing money in building temporary structures in the land that can be used for high rise buildings or shopping complex to fulfill the long term needs of the peoples living in the Barrhaven community.

There can be other places slightly on the outskirts. Even if barrhaven, there are places on outskirts of barrhaven.
What a horrible idea for our community
This is not acceptable in our area.
This is insane and has to stop!
