We, the residents of Barrhaven, are writing to express our concerns regarding the proposed establishment of a tent facility to temporarily house single adult refugees in our community. While we understand the need for humanitarian assistance, we believe it is essential to find a more humane solution in a more appropriate location: No to Tents and NOT in Barrhaven.

This refugee shelter will literally be in my backyard. I am extremely worried about increased crime and the increased use of public amenities and services in Barrhaven, which are already stretched to the breaking point, not to mention the significant drop in value of my property. Mind you, these concerns can probably be said for anywhere in the NCR, but I am so stressed about it that I had to say something. Please find a location whose community will welcome the shelter… which is not Barrhaven.

Why bring people to live in a tent? The quality of life is going down the drain in Canada.

Don't put up sprung tent. Please use a vacant building that can be housed these asylum seekers with dignity.

This shelter is inhumane and provides no privacy or dignity to those that will be housed there.
Using existing buildings with actual rooms that provide privacy to those using it.
Barrhaven is located far from actual resources these asylum seekers will require.

This is absurd. Is Canada running out of space ? It seems to me like it’s time for some decision makers to be fired due to Incompetence in planning ahead of time.

This is such a bad idea for so many reasons. Why not use a vacant building downtown instead of creating problems for everyone in Barrhaven as we don't have the infrastructure.
