This is the last thing Barrhaven needs. Its not a good spot for these people. Its not on a major transit way so they can get around. Something like this belongs in the downtown area, or close to it. Not in the suburbs. The Greenbank location is pretty close to the train tracks, The noise from the trains wont be good for the people. In a house is one thing, at least you can somewhat sound proof it, but in a tent? Barrhaven is not a good place to put this.

Not a safe solution, especially with this being only for single males. Dangerous tinderbox, waiting to ignite.

My email to the office of the mayor was totally ignored. My lengthy email was citing GREAT.concerns as to why these tents are not needed in Barrhaven or other family communities WAS IGNORED! Mr I’m not going to use my veto power as part of his campaign has lied and and has Ignored the concerns from the Councillors and has lied to his constituents. I voted for the current mayor and I’m really regretting this decision! The mayor has bowed down to his real master justin trudeau.
To the current mayor. Listen to your Councillors and not the above where his time now is extremely limited.
We the people of Ottawa elected you. Just remember this Mr current mayor. Your time could be very limited in office if you continue with these nasty decisions. Your legacy and name would be tarnished.

This is a hard NO to tents in Barhaven!! Having lived here for 40+ years it is very sad what is happening these days here! Concerns for safety of my children everyone’s children!! This can’t happen!! Not anywhere in Ottawa or Canada needs this! So sad what’s happening that anyone could even consider this!

Please do not put this near family homes and schools. There is already increased crime in Barrhaven, and bringing more single people will only escalate the discomfort and lack of safety felt by women, parents, and children. Not to mention the danger of housing so many people with questionable health, possibly spreading and/or causing a Tuerculosis outbreak or worse within the group of people. All it takes is one severe transmittable disease to start and our already over taxed Healthcare system is again in more deep deep trouble.
And when you try and just hide unhoused, people with substance abuse and severe mental health issues into suburbia with no resources in place to help them, you have a huge new set of problems, including public safety.
Stop sweeping people under the rug and help them with proper integration and assistance programs.

Our community has gone from a quiet neighborhood to non stop construction / too many people and not enough resources making Barrhaven a place many of us want to move away from.

lets provide a shelter for all the homeless people that we currently have in our city before we allow "aslyum seekers" into our city and provide them a "shelter"

There just isn’t the infrastructure to support this kind of housing.

Hello,
I would like to express my concerns regarding building tent structures in residential areas and using them as a housing for people who are leaving their countries to find a better life. Is this a better solution for them and for the residents of our community?
No tents in Barrhaven
Keep the neighborhood safe for kids.
