Barrhaven is not the place for this shelter. We do not have the proper amenities newcomers require and infrastructure to support them properly

reasons against migrant tent housing: 1. *Lack of Dignity and Long-Term Sustainability*: Tent housing may not provide a dignified or sustainable solution for migrants, as it: - Often lacks basic amenities like electricity, running water, and sanitation facilities. - May not provide adequate protection from extreme weather conditions. - Can be inadequate for families with children, elderly, or people with disabilities. - Fails to address the root causes of migration, such as poverty, conflict, or persecution. - Overcrowding, leading to the spread of diseases. - Poor ventilation, exacerbating respiratory issues. - Insufficient access to medical care, hygiene facilities, and clean water. - Increased risk of fires, floods, or other hazards due to inadequate infrastructure. - Potential for exploitation, violence, or human trafficking. - Limited access to education, employment, and social services. - Negative impact on local communities and resources. - Inadequate waste management and environmental degradation. - High operational costs and resource intensity.

This is not welcome. We don’t want this in Barrhaven.

It should be placed in rural Ottawa. Barrhaven is a community filled with young families and this dome doesn’t belong here

Barrhaven is not the best location for this. Find a better area.

I am a single mom with a daughter. Putting it near my home is a safety issue for me. I will be moving out of Ottawa if this happens. Part of my retirement plan was the sale of my house, which WILL be definitely affected the sale of itt if this is put near my home. There are plenty of locations that make more sense - Riverside South near the train station, downtown in the vacant buildings or built near Amazon buildings, where there is an opportunity for jobs. It is weird that the two Barrhaven locations selected are not were the highest price homes are located. Why is this not going in Westboro, Glebe,, Stonebridge, Stittsville or Kanata? Barrhaven has the worst transit system with no train and does not have the supports needed for single males with trauma that they will come with.

The resources here in barrhaven are already strained. This would be an absolute disaster. This needs to be closer to downtown or a place where there are more resources. Low income families jn barrhaven already are struggling fighting for resources as it is

This is already a busy area and it has a large number of accidents at this intersection. Not to mention a area with a large number of young families (small children, schools etc.) ---- what are you thinking putting something like this here?!
