So happy something is trying to be done about this. My daughter goes to Greenwood and I have been expressing concerns about it

Please increase the time they are given for lunch, they need to eat.

Please give these kids a little more time to eat! This will lead to healthier eating habits and will promote healthy lifestyles.

SONS, Hunter and Connor at Shoreland Elementary experience similar issues.

Please extend lunch time. 20 minutes is just not long enough. Your forcing youngsters to choose which portion of the lunches to eat rather than the entire lunch.

15 minute lunches are absolutely insane. I’m a teacher and a parent and could never expect kids to eat that fast. It’s not healthy for them and not realistic expectations.

15 minutes is nowhere near long enough for a child to eat their lunch. You are creating unhealthy eating habits. Plus, these children deserve time to mentally relax in the middle of the day so they may be more productive the second half of their time in school.

My daughter goes to Wernert and complains about the same problem. How are they supposed to learn in the afternoon with empty bellies?

I'm a grown adult and would struggle to eat a full meal in 15 minutes. That's just bonkers.

I'm required to have a half an hour for lunch for work as an adult to not give kids the same ample time to be able to eat is unacceptable. I'm sure we think that 30 minutes starts as soon as their class ends but if they don't even get the opportunity to sit down and have more than 10 minutes to eat then they don't really have time for lunch and the school has to be more flexible in that regard

I absolutely agree lunches should be extended. It’s unfair and horrible to teach children that can turn into a lasting unhealthy habit.

We use to have at least 25 min if you let kids learn from home you think that don’t have at least 2-3 hours free time your not really understanding what is going on. Kids should be able to have a little time with their friends and not scarf lunch down!!! I bet so much food gets wasted because they don’t have time to eat it!!

This doesn’t only happen at jackman, sadly it’s in every school. I remember rushing at Greenwood, Jefferson and Whitmer. Once I got to high school I kinda just gave up on eating during school hours. It’s easier to stay hungry than feel rushed or waste money buying.
