       (ex. DLSU - 11223456)

Since the year 2008, government officials of Los Baños had implemented on having the No Plastic Policy. Since then, 14 barangays, two huge public markets and more than 2,000 commercial establishments are practically plastic-less. For wet goods such as fish, poultry, meat and ice, the use of plastic materials is meticulously regulated. Violators are meted out stiff penalties. Disposed plastic materials are collected and brought to the Eco-Waste Processing Center of Los Baños where they are converted into useful products, such as plastic hollow blocks or roofing panels for use in the construction of public school buildings and socialized housing projects.

A year after Los Baños started implementing its No Plastic Policy, the towns of Paete, Nagcarlan and Kalayaan in Laguna, also with Sorsogon City in the Bicol Region had followed along with this policy in their cities.

Manila being the capital city of the Philippines must also implement this kind of policy for as other cities/provinces would also follow. If this policy would be implemented, Filipinos would not just be helping their country for waste management but they would also be helping themselves on what these plastics could be of harm to them in the future.
