I'm a single woman in her late 40's that can hardly afford my housing now if we lose rent control it will cost me more than monthly rent. Statistics show that we would lose a substantial part of our coach value. For some our investment is our only nest egg, our retirement. Please do not allow. Don't make the rich richer.

Our rent goes up every year. We live in a mobile home community as we are unable to afford a house in the ground. This is somewhat affordable housing for seniors and single people. We need rent control in Santa Clara County.

We just moved into a mobile home park because it's the only place we can afford to live in the Bay Area. Now, that we're here, we learn of this "Opt-In" issue that will throw a wrench into the lives of people who are in our same situation. Owners of mobile home parks don't need the additional money, they're making enough as it is. However, us older people have no way to keep up with the increases in our space rent. Rules have changed over the years to force us to keep our homes in the parks we live in, which turned out to be something for park owners to exploit by raising their profit margins. Opt-in isn't fair and it isn't humane. It will also prevent us from selling our mobile homes if the space rent prices get too high for potential buyers to afford. It's time for politicians to start respecting their elders and keep these mobile home park owners under control.

San Jose's mobile home parks with Rent Control ordinances sustain affordable housing in our community. They provide an invaluable benefit to the community, allowing citizens to live and contribute to the well being of the San Jose residents. Many of the occupants are valued volunteers and are grandparents which support San Jose families. No further measures are required to keep these thriving communities available. They are here. The desire is to keep these communities solvent and available for generations of San Jose citizens, many who have lived and worked in the Valley for decades. They shop in the communities and provide an invaluable service to other seniors. People should be able to live their older lives in San Jose with peace and dignity.

San Jose (Park owners) have regulated, but allowable rent increases every year, up to 8%. This should be enough to satisfy this type of investment.
The Mobile Home Parks with Rent Control ordinances sustain affordable housing in our community. The Opt-in signature is a signature to keep these ordinances as is and basically stop further discussion. The insistence of Park Owners to circumvent or abolish the Rent increase ordinance(s), creates undo stress on Homeowners who cannot afford the real property costs of our area. In this respect Homeowners pay an annual increase, year after year, which is manageable. The allowable annual increase is still a generous return for the Park Owners, and maintains an affordable housing plan for the city. As the axiom goes; If it's not broken - don't fix it"

We as a city and community need to maintain the affordable housing options that manufactured home parks provide. It's no secret that this is one of the most expensive places to live in the world, it's also no secret that parks like this are one of the few options left for families and older folks who can't afford the ridiculous rent and home prices in this area so let's not ruin a good thing.

I live in Chateau LaSalle Park. The rent is way too high and going up every year. Please STOP the increases! We seniors on fixed income can not afford to live here.

I live in the Lamplighter park...4201 North 1st street...San Jose...We have a 3% yearly increase on this development...The rent is already too high...Including myself and 4 other neighbors....if this rent isn't controlled and goes up...we are moving...Thank you

We are living in the middle of a construction zone with noise, dust, and rodents. Personally, I think the rent should be lowered!
