I have already voiced my opinion in a previous letter to the editor, but I will reiterate...our kids like to be outdoors doing stuff together...NOT put behind walls....to me, if they are of the Christian religion, they can practice their faith in churches and Sunday schools...they don't need a 10,000 sq ft building!

No. Council Members Benzian and Donovan got this right. If the building and parking are appropriate, then revisit. As it is, this project is overwhelmingly not supported, as is, by the Community.

Family here since 1913. They would say NO just as I am. Citizens wanting answers were removed from the public meeting regarding Logos! What?! Absolutely NO!!

The provided 29 parking spaces and stated use by 50 students would require a much smaller building. We don't need more overbuilt spaces in Coronado. The maximum occupancy of 360 and the 14 bathroom stalls would lead any thinking person to believe the owners have much larger plans in mind. 50 students, 14 bathroom stalls, hmmm. Thank goodness we have City Council members (Donovan and Benzian) who take our laws seriously, and follow them to protect us from whatever this overbuilt 'college' might become.

I like the idea of a place for the youth of our community but this project smells bad. It definitely appears that the projected youth center will eventually be used for something else..

The residents have allowed this sort of insanity to occur. By electing a ladder climbing nothing from out of town as Mayor, by being asleep at the wheel on the issue of traffic, by allowing increased density out of pure greed and now the town's main block has been sold to an out of town developer who kicks out business owners who have been the heart of this town for decades. and THEN some out of town developer buys the Hansen Mansion for some fake "social purpose" and NOW wants to throw a massive building into a residential neighborhood? So your property is worth more......but Coronado is NO MORE. Wake Up and FIGHT!

No. This town is definitely NOT in need of additional space for teens to gather because they opt not to participate in school sports or other school offered activities. We have a beautiful community center that is often not filled, a community pool, the boathouse across the park offers paddleboarding, rowing, etc and there are tons of community classes and activities offered year-round along with a skate park, multiple local parks, after school programs, library programs and there are many local church youth and teen groups that welcome all faiths and beliefs. If financials are an issue, most of the programs offer financial assistance for those in need, but rather tahn build a huge special use project... why not donate money to the already existing local options for teen and provide scholarships for those in need? The fact this is being promoted as a "need" in a small town that offers well above the County average of opportunities for our youth really bothers me.

Absolutely; NO. When first apprised of this project February by a letter from the planning commission "Subject: PC 2018-08 and CP 2018-03 970 C Avenue AKA: Logos Youth Center" that the commission would be voting up or down on the project and as a direct abutter I could comment. I objected to the project and gave them reasons, in writing, my objection. Now, I read in the San Diego Union that the residents living next door approved of the project. Not true, I do not approve and I truly hope that I, and my neighbors, do not want to go through the foolishness of having this sort of thing shoved down our throats. Thank you Council Members Donovan and Benzian for having the brains and guts to vote this project down.
