Our aquifer needs to be protected and the community and homes being threatened need to be protected. I live in East Memphis and I vote. I will remember how this is handled by our politicians.

Encourage Memphis City Council to Pass the Resolution Opposing the Byhalia Connection Pipeline
Encourage Memphis Light, Gas, and Water (local utility) to protect Memphis' pristine and only drinking water source, the Memphis Sand Aquifer, with a wellhead protection zone ordinance.

To move forward with this pipeline is to continue the environmental suffering of the predominantly black people living in these neighborhoods. It needs to be stopped.

Memphis needs to protect the water supply at almost any cost. This is an issue for Valero and a few other private companies which endangers a large region. McKellar Lake is already heavily impacted, much of south Memphis is already heavily impacted, this is short sighted with no long term jobs and only risk.

This is going to hurt the long-term growth of the surrounding area, and is more than likely going to cause issues for our water.
