This sort of dump should be situated well away from where people live as well as the flinders bring a major tourist destination for South Austrslia. An awesome place where I live and do not want to see destroyed

Keep out of the Flinders Rangers. One of NATURES wonders left in the world so leave it that way for our future generations to enjoy.

I had the wonderful experience of growing up in this natural paradise albeit because of mining at Leigh Creek, but think that the Flinders Ranges has been used enough for the betterment of Government coffers and truly feel that this area should be protected from such a poisonous project such as dumping nuclear waste. I dont buy the argument that Australia sold the uranium to France so there fore we should dispose of their waste. I dont agree with the sale of, or use of yellow cake as an energy source so cant with good conscious agree with accepting the by product to be dumped in our beautiful Flinders Ranges.

A fuel dump is all about privatising the profits of uranium mining in australia and socialising the losses.

The government tries to blackmail the people in the rural areas by promising money and dumping rubbish. The info they provide is so subjective that it can't be taken seriously.

I'm not sure whether you're correct about a scientific consensus or not. Ian Lowe is really a commentator, most people define an active scientist as someone who has an h-index of 25 or more, as I understand it Ian Lowe's h-index is only 3, so can I have a few other names please

" ... it is questionable whether South Australia actually has benefited from mining as much as we are led to believe, with 83% of all mining profits going to overseas companies according to the Australian Institute’s paper #7, ‘Mining the Truth’ (Richardson, D. Denniss, R. 2011, p. 17).
This is a topic that we recently explored at University during our Environment: A Human Perspective course; it is what is known as ‘Privatizing profits, socializing losses’.
According to Professor Ian Lowe, Emeritus Professor of Science, Technology and Society at Griffith University and a member of the Royal Commission’s Expert Advisory Committee,
the royalties from Roxby Downs uranium mining, for example, only contributes $4 each year for each South Australian.
The Flinders Ranges should be made a Heritage Site to protect it from stupidity.

I say NO to low/intermediate and high grade nuclear waste storage in South Australia.
NO! - to high grade nuclear waste in Austraia.
