Oppose the building of a new hotel on Route 96! This is a money grab by the developer who due to lessened demand, can no longer viably place the previously approved office building on the site.
A New Hotel...
- Will be in direct conflict with Perinton's 2021 Comprehensive Plan that shows this lot's future ideal zoning as residential.
- Is not necessary and will directly compete with existing Perinton Hotels like Woodcliff and the Hilton Garden Inn (Monroe County hotel occupancy rates are expected to be 53% in 2023)
- Will adversely impact traffic on Route 96.
- Will remove significant green space on route 96 and Fisher's Road
- Will be located partially BEHIND existing office buildings, making it extremely close to existing residential areas
- Will be 4 Stories high (over 40ft!) making it higher than most of the surrounding tree scape
- Will be highly visible to local residents, driving down real estate values due to their homes new negative adverse exterior views
- Will dramatically increase the noise of Route 490 and Route 96 to the surrounding neighborhoods
- Excessive noise will be a disturbance from guests coming and going 24/7 year round, garbage trucks, car alarms and car locks
- Lights will be shining all night from hotel and parking lot lights which will be visible to the surrounding community
