Stop the Proposed Motel 6 on S. Yosemite St. in Centennial

As a registered voter of Centennial, I strongly oppose the building of this hotel so close to our elementary school and neighborhood. Our children's safety is always our biggest concern and this puts the potential for crime right across the street. Please do not allow this to be built.

Please listen to the citizens.

Against Motel 6 on Yosemite

Read the General Purposes of the City of Centennial's Development Code below. A studio/motel 6 will easily violate items 1 through 3. It is also not welcomed and not supported by the community and therefore should be considered elsewhere in a location where it garners support. A. Generally. The regulations of this LDC shall be for the purpose of promoting the health, safety, convenience, order, prosperity and general welfare of the present and future inhabitants of the City of Centennial, Colorado, by using the City’s home rule, constitutional, and statutory powers to: 1. Implement the City’s adopted Comprehensive Plan and other adopted plans (including Sub-Area Plans), which reflect the shared values of the community with respect to the character, form, and function of its future development, and which promote planned and orderly development and redevelopment within the City; 2. Protect and enhance the character of the City by defining districts according to desired character traits; ensure adequate light and air; maintain open spaces; and implement design standards in appropriate locations; 3. Promote context-sensitive redevelopment and infill development;

The City of Centennial's Development Code General Purpose states - 1. A Studio/Motel 6 in no way fulfills this goal and purpose and is not a shared community value. I am a voter and my interest would not be taken into consideration if this is allowed to be developed in its proposed location.

I am a registered voter in Centennial and would use my vote to prevent extended stay motels from being built at this location.

This type of motel has no business being in such close proximity to our neighborhood. There are plenty of other vacant lots in Centennial for them to build on which are not near neighborhoods,

Just look at the one off Arapaho they use that one as a half way house by the county. So no way Centennial and stop trying to make us like Aurora.

Just say No till the City of Centennial Land Use Codes can be updated.

I have been a Willow Creek resident for over 20 years and would like to see our community thrive without fear of safety.

As a registered voter of Centennial, I feel Motel 6 is not a proper fit for our community. We need to put the safety of our children first the proximity to Willow Creek Elementary is a great concern. Thank you.

My wife and I bought a home here because of the safety, and location of the City of Centennial. How dare this city would even consider the placement of a Motel 6 with the crime, drugs and human trafficking problems these low budget extended stay “dumps” bring with them. Not exactly where we want our grandchildren to walk or play! Please reject the application of Motel 6!

I am registering my opposition to the construction of a Motel6 on S Yosemite near Dry Creek Rd. There are plenty of accommodations near Maggianos, north on Clinton, County Line Road, near Park Meadows, etc

I feel this development would not be the correct fit for the neighborhood.

No need for Motel 6 near our homes and schools. Centennial has other (more appropriate zones) for that.

We have lived in Willow Creek since 1986. The commercial area on the east side of Yosemite has continued to evolve - some well designed and appropriate business complexes and some not so visually acceptable. A Motel 6 or any other low cost motel is not needed in the area. There are plenty of other motels available within a half mile. A better use would be a small to medium grocery store/cafe.

We respectfully ask that all budget and extended-stay lodging hotels are prohibited around our neighborhoods.
