this ancient site is not the place to put that number of caravans and surely that size of development is just not suitable or appropriate

There are already some 300 static caravans between Newtown and Llanidloes. what is the evidence of need for these green tin sheds to despoil the countryside and cover large areas of grassland with concrete. This will reduce the land's water-holding capacity and increase the amount of water flowing down into the flood plain

This must not be allowed to happen. The destruction of this inspiring landscape with such an ill conceived, ill thought out, disastrous proposal would ruin the very essence of this landscape and its value to all. Destruction of the landscape with such an eyesore and inappropriate business project must never be allowed to happen.

The nature of support for tourism in such an unspoiled and special area should be supporting small local businesses who have low impact on the environment and keep their income in the local economy - B&Bs, farm accommodation, camp sites. Large scale hard structures like a caravan site are detrimental on so many levels. Self catering brings less income to the economy, such a site is a blot on the landscape that brings tourists in the first place, it concentrates visitors in too small an area. Please think long and hard about the true impact of this application on nature, the countryside, the local people.

As someone who has enjoyed B and B at Maesmawr, Mid Wales Art Centre, I am astonished that yet another caravan park is being considered. Tourists enjoy the beauty of the scenery, covering the hillside with buildings seems shortsighted.

I am concerned about the level of traffic turning out of moat lane onto the main road especially when the rail barriers have been down.
I am also concerned about increased traffic in Caersws ( I live on the main road). Parking in the village is already a problem near shops/train/doctors. I am dreading the additional car chaos to the detriment of local people.

the people who want to come and stay in mid Wales are after peace and quiet, good walking small sites. The place for such scale development is already established on the coast and many of those large sites are struggling to find tenants.

This is a short sighted proposal that threatens the very reason that people increasingly appreciate this uniquely unspoiled landscape.Our landscape is one of our greatest national assets and MUST be protected if tourism, of the most sensitive and important type, is not to be compromised.
Good and harmonious building can of course improve a landscape,but insensitive developments such as this, on major historic sites,and as proposed, have the exponential power to destroy it.
I urge the council to consider most carefully all of our futures.

From what I have seen, there is not a proven need for additional static / touring caravans in the immediate area. It is surely counterproductive to over saturate any area with similar types of development. The attraction of the area is in its unspoiled & historic countryside. I hope you reconsider and refure permission for this new development.
