I like to see the rail line reopen for the forthcoming generation.

Railways should be regarded as part of our defence/strategic planning. Upgrading is on-going and creates jobs. In the event of a grave national emergency, we may well have to rely on rail for distribution of goods. Think about it when your computer dies, watch-face goes black and the only chips that aren't fried are cooked by gas.

I fully agree that heritage rail projects should be established, using the current disused railway tracks. ESPECIALLY on the track to National Park. These tracks should NEVER be ripped up and converted to bicycle or walking trails. Groups like the Derwent Valley Rail Society and the Tasmanian Transport Museum should have full access to these tracks. It's a fantastic opportunity, for Tasmania, going to complete waste.

Our railway network will be a great asset in future for light railway and tourist operations. We simply cannot afford to destroy our existing lines and lose this opportunity to improve our future.

We could have tourist trains on these lines. Please don't wreck them for future use!

Allow trails alongside rail where there is room but otherwise keep the rail lines where they are.

Our group would like to preserve our rail lines & introduce tourist trains to link North & South. Bring back the trains.

If these lines are converted to bike tracks they will never be returned to rail. The economic and social benefits of tourist and future freight operation will be lost to our community

Put trains back on the tracks and leave cyclists on the roads.
