NO MORE APARTMENTS for BEDFORD

We definitely do not need more vehicle congestion in this area.

I fully support workforce housing, I don’t support this location for a project of this type and size. Please keep this type of growth out of this area of Bedford. I too moved here 20 years ago to raise my family in a small rural town where they could ride their bikes to school or a friends house, where there were sledding hills and fields for flying kites and woods and ponds to explore, a small town safe for my kids to explore. Most adults I know won’t even ride their bikes along the roads around their homes (where traffic is building to avoid 101) let alone along or across 101. It’s too much growth too quickly and a slippery slope for further large scale building along 101. Traffic, congestion, environmental impact, wildlife displacement, and the increased burden on our services (police, fire, EMT, schools, and road crews), as well as maintaining a small town feel, are all things to consider with this type of project.

Attempting to monopolize the real estate in Bedford, destroying precious wetlands -It is nothing but greed on behalf of the developers, hiding behind the pretense of altruism. There has been major residential growth in town within a small amount of time. I welcome a new and more diverse population, but the amount of building is ENOUGH! You have BUILT ENOUGH! How much money do you need? How much of the town will you gobble up before you destroy the characteristics that make Bedford Bedford? Residents, please, PLEASE make your voices heard! We may not have the connections or finances of Anagnost and Grenier, but if enough of us speak out the town officials will have to listen. We need to remind them that they are ELECTED to represent the best interests of Bedford CITIZENS, not private developers who care nothing about the town itself, just what they can squeeze out of it. Attend town meetings, sign petitions, get the word out to your friends and neighbors. Banding together and speaking out is the only chance we have to preserve the Bedford we love.

Let's keep our town small and without too many appartments.

Variances are needed for this project as presented. Hopefully enough pressure can be placed on the committees/boards to deny these variances. Wetlands and size increase in particular

I'm not against apartments in general, but the location of this particular complex could pose a serious issue if our high school needs to be expanded. I'm seeing reports of standing room only in some high school classrooms, standing room only in the cafeteria, and 3 to a seat (and some children in aisles) on high school buses. The district enrollment numbers I received from the school board do not show a significant enrollment drop anytime soon. Our high school was built for 1,300 students and is currently "at capacity" with 1,500 students (and based on parent reports “at capacity” apparently means not enough room for the students who are there). These numbers don’t drop for another 5-10 years (assuming more town growth doesn’t take place). If we need to expand the high school, where are we going to do that if there’s a huge apartment complex adjacent to it?!?

More apartments in Bedford is a bad idea. The desirability of this town is because it is a small town with open areas and a rural feel, nearby many amenities. We don’t need or want to be Manchester or Nashua. If people want that they can go live there. Apartments with all the extra traffic and people turn this town into just another urban place to live.

We moved to Bedford to live in a smaller town. If i wanted a city I would move to one.

I support the drive for “no apartments” in Bedford

My parents moved to Bedford in 1969 as newlyweds in order to settle down and raise a family ‘in the country’. My siblings and I walked to friends’ houses by ourselves, and road our bikes on Wallace and County roads. After leaving for a few years, I too returned home to Bedford as a newlywed to raise my own family here... but it is not the same as it it used to be - the population has grown almost three fold since I was a child. What we once had was gone, and we need to save the trees, green space, and idyllic community that we have left. We need to limit the population in town before we turn into a small city ourselves.

There is no housing shortage in Southern NH. We don't need more housing in Bedford as our schools are over crowded and the traffic is too stressful for our kids (on the bus or driving) to get to school and us to get to work.

My parents moved to Bedford in 1969 as newlyweds - trying to escape the hustle and bustle of Massachusetts and to raise a family ‘in the country’. Although I moved away for a few years, I couldn’t resist coming back home to raise my own family in the country. However, what I can back to was already then that much bigger than how I knew the town growing up. I have seen what development has done to the town - no longer can I ride my bike down Wallace road or walk around town safely due to traffic and congestion. I ask the planning board to prevent large apartment complexes, to prevent the sprawl, and stop further developments.

There is no need for this type of housing in Bedford. There is plenty of housing like this in Manchester.

We recently moved to Bedford from out of state to get away from the big city life. This would be one of probably several apartment complexes to come to this area and detract from Bedford's character. The planned location is already heavily congested, meanwhile the old Shorty's restaurant just sits abandoned.

Schools and roads are already overcrowded.

Work Force Housing is a new term for "Section 8 Subsidized Housing" We cannot afford to have more voters in our town who do not pay taxes.
