I have spent this week compiling the personal accounts shared in the comments section to present to the administration. The administration maintains a position of silence regarding these fee adjustments although the financial impact on our students remains clear. Please continue to monitor this space for news regarding forthcoming discussions with department leadership.

Okay I really don't like this. Lee is the only place I can afford college right now, and I scheduled things to graduate on time. If This goes through and I cant take 17 hours without paying extra then I more than likely will not be able to attend Lee. I have already been forced to think of alternatives in case.
I would like to know who's bright idea disallowing the 17th hour was. I thought the idea of the 120 hour program was to make it easier for students to finish on time and, ultimately, save them money. It seems as if this is an effort to recoup some of that lost revenue...why bother with the 120 hour program at all then?
My daughter is a Lee junior who is a double major & has had to take 17 hours to graduate in 4 years....PLEASE keep this option open for future students.
As someone who changed their major after a year, I find this particularly upsetting. I was already planning on having to take 18 hours for a couple semesters in order to graduate on time, but now that will be an extra 2 hours instead of only 1. I would have liked to have been made aware of this change.
I am a music major who currently needs to take approximately 19 hours to finish my degree even in 4 1/2 years. I would really appreciate being able to take more classes without having to pay even more extra money.
if I am not switching to the 120 hours I should be able to take 17 hours without paying more!!!!!
Why change from what is a great system now? We pay more than enough for college. Are you making it to wear no one is able to afford it? Seems like it to me. We should be able to make the decision of how many hours we want to take without having to worry if we can continue to afford it. It's already a struggle to begin with.

Students who came to Lee expecting to be able to take 17 hrs per semester and have worked hard and planned with that in mind shouldn't have their graduation dates derailed because of 1 hr's worth of a class.
