No Methadone in Our Backyards!

This would destroy historic downtown Monument which is currently an idyllic, safe place to spend a day or evening.

With 10 grandchildren & one great grandchild all in the community or nearby, it would be a travesty to have this clinic open in our neighborhood! Please keep our community clean & free of this type of influence.

I strongly object, as a resident, to the Methadone Clinic, personally and on behave of my eight local grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Please don't bring it in out town especially across from the park where kids are all the time.

This is WRONG!! We don't want our kids doing drugs but you know let's put a damn methadone right across the street from the park where tons of people are playing and have a nice time with family this is sooooooo not ok!

This is the just awful. Should not be allowed! It could destroy Monument.

This town should not accept this type of facility/treatment. The new name for Monument will be "Methadone" and will have a drug reputation and the associated problems and issues that come with it. Not only the people in treatment but the 'friends' and 'associates' the 'visit' them come along for the ride and 'discover' this area--avoid the problem all together by not bringing it or other drug-related businesses/'treatments' here in the future. Let's get it together in Monument.

this should have been put to vote by the residents of Monument, NOT the town officials. This is so very, very wrong.

Just saw the sign for this petition in downtown Monument yesterday while driving around looking for a home to buy. NOT GOOD! It was my misfortune to live next door to a methadone addict in Texas, and he was destructive and even cruel to my animals. Don't do this to Monument. Denver and Colorado Springs are equidistant from Monument and already have methadone clinics. Keep this evil away from Monument. And, YES, trust me, this "clinic" positioning is already affecting me and my wife's decision on whether or not to buy our next home in Monument.

I am a psychiatric/behavioral medical transcriptionist looking to buy a home in the Monument area, specifically because it is PEACEFUL, at least for now! I hear firsthand every...single...day how addiction, especially heroin and/or other prescription narcotics, simply ruins people's lives. Recovery is rare. This is an ABSURD LOCATION for such a clinic. Colorado Springs and Denver have clinics, and are not that far away. Don't make Monument a dumping ground for junkies!

This is just not the right location for this... I have lived here for 20 years, & my babies all played at the park...and I think it is a beautiful place for kids and families..?Please find another location!

I am not against the clinic at all. I'm all for people getting help if they need it. However I am against it being in the location they plan to put it in, I can think of at least 10 other places in our Tri-Lakes area that would be better suited for this clinic. Please don't put this clinic across from the park I take my kids to.

Find another location in Monument. Downtown is not appropriate next to a kids park.
