I have nearly 30 yrs experience working with recovering addicts and do not believe in methodone as a treatment in general. The idea that a clinic like this would be directly across from a park my children play at along with being in the heart of my hometown and directly next door to residential area is very upsetting.

A pain clinic will not bring any thing positive to our community. It will attract current and former drug addicts. Please consider the future of our community, the direction and vision for Monument.

I am a counselor at the clinic in Colorado Springs. We are full and have a 5 month wait list. It's the same for every clinic in the state. Unfortunately there is such an epidemic and need, and not enough services. We have people on the wait list desperate, broken and dying of heroin overdoses. Methadone and suboxone truly are the safest alternatives. In addition, it helps pregnant mothers to stop using opiates. These patients are parents too. They care about the welfare of children just as much as you and I do. You would be surprised to know that many patients are doctors, nurses, emergency responders, military, veterans, lawyers, etc. Pills are everywhere and opiate addictions don't discriminate.

It was not brought to the public's awareness. There will be a public meeting with the methadone clinic representative on July 13th at "Big Red" Lewis Palmer School District building at 146 Jefferson St in Monument. Please attend and ask others to come as well. We will be heard!!!!!

Please reconsider the location. Colorado Springs would be a much better place to put a methadone clinic.

Please do not put our children and property at risk by opening the clinic in historic downtown Monument. That is not the right location.

We do not want this type of persons brought into our "Hometown" setting. There are many places south and north with the type of clients that this would serve and have many other institutions and services that would fit in that area. Monument is small town and there is no place for this type of facility.

We have no need to 'import' individuals that need methadone treatment into our community; especially at a location directly across the street from one of the only parks in our small town,.

Not appropriate for our town - especially in this location.

What a travesty it would be to have our town subjected to a methadone clinic. The site is across the street from a family oriented park. Monument is family friendly and we need to preserve this ideal. The idea of having this clinic in our small town is abhorent to me. Push it up or down the highway to a more populated area where I believe there is more need.
No methadone clinic next to the park... bad idea.
