Taxes should be kept affordable!
There should be no need for a 20-25% tax hike, unless budgeting of funds is being mismanaged.

This is typical action of the current Shoreline City government officials...Big dreams/ visions but no realistic pre-planning for getting things done (it takes money folks...wishful thinking does not do it! I can tell you now that you will not get my vote in this situation and I will persuade my neighbors to say No too!

I'm opposed to this measure by the City of Shoreline - City Counsel - Some body needs to stop this abuse by the City of Shoreline. Looks like they're getting away with everything they want without taking in account to" WE" the residents. Please Stop them!!!!!

The Council doesn't listen to us; they are such dictators! High density, high rises. No requirements for off-street parking, trees, balconies, play areas, etc. The outside builders will toss up "lego look alike" apts and then skip town. We will be stuck with paying for everything. STOP!!!

I continue to believe there are cost reduction options available. Allowing Ronald to operate without a 3 plus million dollar investment in a utility yard and the inevitable rate increases will help. Self insuring and doing away with the retirement benefit hidden as an insurance cost will cut another huge sum from the budget. The 2 plus million that STS plans on giving the city for light rail services should also give the city a savings. Spending money yu don't have is not effective!

The value of living in multigenerational, multicultural neighborhoods where we help those less fortunate cannot be overstated. Taxing them away creates generations of people lacking in empathy. Our country is demonstrating this in epidemic fashion right now! Do not be this thoughtless. Think globally act locally. You have heard it before....

As the value of Shoreline homes increase, so do the the property taxes. Why do we need to raise even more the taxes when there is more money coming in already anyway. Why is Shoreline's budget increasing much faster than the inflation.
The city of Shoreline need to show that they are responsible and that they are able to hnadle their budget and reduce their current spending so it doesn't grow out of control. Shoreline already has one of the highest property tax rate of King county!

Your small businesses will be taxed out of business. You need to look at the big picture. We are looking at a King County property evaluation raise of about 10% + Shoreline wants to add 14% on top of that. Simple terms that's 24%. The only way I can afford that is to stop paying for full medical insurance for my employees.

The numbers being presented by city staff on this issue are demonstrably false. Who believes that mean 2016 property assessments will be only 2.9% higher than in 2015. (Mine increased 11%.)

I hesitate to do this online petitions because I have heard they are only for fact finding. I don't want the tax rate lid lifted at all and no compromises.
