A better solution would be to place plastic shields. and to allow parents to keep their children home when they are sick. Instead of harassing them. Children should not come to school with fevers or when they are sick. Get a nurse that knows how to give medication at the time it is due once they are on out antibiotics. Get a nurse that accepts forms from doctors and does not insist that they complete their own forms. Doctors do not waste time on forms. A prescription form should be perfectly acceptable to a school nurse.

Let us parents decide if we want them to wear one or not!

My 8 year old has chronic lung disease and I am very concerned about her health deteriorating if masks are mandated. She does not take as deep of breaths as most children her age and if her breathing is constricted by a mask she will not have safe oxygen saturation levels. The carbon dioxide issue is of great concern as are the infections can develop from wearing the same mask all day. Please do what is right for the health of our children. Parents can still have their children wear masks if they feel they want to for health reasons, but please don't make it a mandate.

While wearing masks are effective in limiting spread. Its hard to breath and can cause light headedness when used prolonged periods of time. It also removes the personal connection. You can't see a smile from a teacher or a classmate and will have a negative impact on social interactions.

The fact that the recommendations for masks versus no masks has flip flipped so many times ought to be enough not to require them. There is not enough scientific based evidence to support wearing masks long term. I worry about the emotional impact of long term masks on our children. Masks take away much of our non verbal communication.

I have elementary school kids, and an older child with special needs, that wearing masks will cause more problems than it solves. Please allow exceptions for masks.

Masks are dangerous for our children to wear all day, please do the research, I did. Also, children are not at risk, and the virus is not passed by people that are asymptomatic.

As a medical provider who is currently required to wear a mask all day I can personally vouch for the facts that extended mask wear also increases fatigue, mental "fogginess", depression and frustration. I've been in medicine for 28 years and there has NEVER been a time when masks were required all the time, not even when caring for highly infectious TB patients. Best practices should be simple but frequent hand washing and/or use of hand sanitizer that's it.

Please no masks! At least not while in the classroom learning. I believe it will be a huge distraction and almost impossible for the kids to wear them all day. Thank you!

We LOVE TCA but will not send our kids if masks are required. The potential mental health effects far outweigh the risk. Introducing children to an environment of “don’t do this, don’t do that, keep your mask on” can not be the environment we wish for our children. If we are at a point in the virus where we feel the need to have masks on children, it’s more likely that children shouldn’t be going to school in the first place.
