Shame on SF Board of Supervisors. Honor the innocent victims of crime, not the perpetrators.

Mario Woods was a violent gang member- felon. He endeavored to murder an innocent person and fortunately by a miracle the victim did not die. Now a "Three Striker" and an "Attempted Murderer" Mario was determined, by any means, to stay out of prison. Still brandishing the "attempted murder" weapon and very willing and able to slash his way to freedom where he could continue his violent career- he marched down the street towards his next victim. The San Francisco Police Officers, the Protective Arm of the Citizens of San Francisco, had no option after expending all lesser options, but to terminate the highest possible threat to the citizens of San Francisco and to themselves. There was no way whatsoever that the SFPD Officers could allow Mario to leave the scene because of the high likelihood that he would kill to stay out of custody.

I am the third generation San Francisco police officer. It is a slap in my face and to my Grandfather and Father who have now passed away. All three of us gave the honorable service.

Made me proud Not to be from San Franciso. San Francisco "leadership" is a joke with a lousy punchline.

Big mistake supervisors made. Irrational reactive based on fear. Causing more harm to my beloved City of SF.

No to honor Mario Woods, he put police offices in danger and you want to make him a hero, what a joke. What is this world coming to?

Only in San Francisco would the board of supervisors approve a day of Rememberance for a criminal and a gang member who just committed a crime by stabbing someone. Disgracefull!! We should not re-elect any of them. S.F

Shame on the supervisors of San Francisco.! To honor a criminal for what he did. You are a disgrace to the good citizens of the city and a bad role model for the young citizens.

I was appalled by the vote from our City Supervisors to honor a criminal; it is just so disturbing to me. Why isn’t there a day of remembrance for our fallen Officers, everyday we should take the time to remember; Hopefully these City Officials will see the error of their ways and correct this immediately.

Shame on you...honor a person who committed a crime on drug and failed to listen to law enforcement. RIDICULOUS. Yes a life was lost but he doesn't a deserve a day of Honor.
