Only the BLACKS think it's O.K. To honor a criminal. If the police tell you to do something, you do it. You back people are no better than anyone else.

That is wrong to have a "day of rememberance" for a convicted felon.

Why on earth are we honoring a person who spent his life breaking the law?

This is insane! Who in their right mind would want to give this guy a day! It was a shame he had to die but he committed a crime and refused to listen to officers that clearly gave him multiple chances. How disgraceful that this is even being talked about when so many military and law enforcement lives have been lost and yet, no day in memory of them. As a photographer with her own business I tend to stay clear of political stuff in fear that I will loose business if I offend someone. BUT this is bull! I will share and shout this loud and I don't care less how it effects my business. And people wonder why we have so much crime? We glorify it, we defend it, and now we are giving them days to remember the killed criminals???? What planet am I on? Things need to change.... Honor our fallen before you honor a criminal like this.

How can you have a remembrance day for a criminal high on drugs who stabbed a person in the shoulder?!

As a relative of Sgt. Scott Lunger, I find it offensive and reprehensible that the date chosen is very date Scott was killed in the line of duty. The thought of glorifying this criminal is in itself disgusting, but to slap Sgt. Lunger's family and all of law enforcement in the face at the same time, shame on San Francisco!

What a travesty to even consider something like this.

It's a sad day in our nation when they honor a criminal who killed a police officer, rather than honoring the one who gave his life protecting others. This needs to stop!

I'm sorry that he lost his life. But when you're wielding a knife and you're told to put it down; you may need to listen and follow instructions. A few weeks later, a homeless man with a knife (that people deemed as NOT dangerous) stabbed a CHP in the neck. Thus, precisely why police do what they do. They want to go home too.
