Something like this only encourages more racism and tension. Remembrance Days should only go to people who have done outstanding deeds, not people who are a detriment to society.

My feeling is it would be more appropriate to observe a memorial day for Kate Steinle. Her death on the Embarcadero is tragic and heartbreaking. Makes you realize how precious life really can be.

This is sickening to want to give a criminal a day of remembrance. It's utterly disturbing.

I am appalled that you would honor a violent criminal. He willfully disobeyed lawful orders by law enforcement and is responsible for his own death. He created the confrontation and chose his path.
Shame on you.

This low life put himself in the position to be shot. What ever happened to following the orders of a Police Officer. If you think you were wronged deal with it after your arrest.

I thought elected officials were supposed to look out and stand up for the rights of the law abiding public......
To support the police department in keeping the public safe.???
Not to stand up or honor convicted felons, who prey on the law abiding public(RESPONSIBLE VOTERS).......
Hey San Francisco Board of Supervisors!!!!!!!!!!!
Wake up and start listening to the people who put you in office.

Mr Wood decided for himself. He paid for his "E" ticket ride when he advanced on those officers and failed to comply with their orders. No Mario. You're not riding the tea cups. You're going on Thunder Mountain. If it was fame and notoriety you were looking for, you failed. No one will remember your name. You are gone. I only hope the officers you placed in this position can disregard you as the rest of the world will.
