The names of criminals should never be glamorized by even acknowledging them. There is absolutely no acceptable reason to honor a career criminal. What is wrong with the people who thought this was ok? If it had been their family member he stabbed that night, they would never voted to have a Memorial Day for him, shame on them!

Do not glamorize criminals. They deserve derision not recognition. The scum was a gang banger. Yeah, perhaps he didn't deserve the "overkill" but he wasn't an innocent victim by any means. Those who put their lives on the line daily to protect and serve are getting so quick on the draw for a reason. They are threatened continuously but society forgets about that until they need them. And then low life's who can't raise their children with respect and integrity end up suing for a ton of money. What the hell.

I am the sister of fallen officer Sgt Scott Paul Lunger. I believe that July 22nd should be a day of remembrance for my brother whom sacrificed his life protecting the people, not a criminal! Wake up world this is plain idiotic!!!

I am sickened by the idea that a city government responsible for the safety of its citizens would consider such a despicable idea for remembrance. This was a criminal who preyed upon your community and you dare memorialize him? I will never travel to or spend my money in a town like that. Absolutely diagusting!
