We need to have a remembrance for people who make society better such as teachers and public safety officials. We SHOULD NOT glorify criminals for any such reason, especially MARIO WOODS. This is a disservice to the community and needs to be stopped

It is wrong to glorify a criminal no matter how he was killed. Please do not mix the issues. Remembrance Day is for heroes. Your action is going to insult our heroes.

I am mortified to think anyone would even suggest having a Day of Remembrance for a convicted felon! Whoever voted for this needs to be voted out of office immediately! Insanity!

Having a day of Remembrance for a convicted felon is the most insane thing I've ever heard of! What kind of morons would vote for something like this? They need to be voted out of office immediately!

It is offensive to good citizens and all First Responders to celebrate the life of a Felon, Gang Member and alleged attempted murderer. The City Board of Supervisors must reconsider this request.

If the city of San Francisco is so blind to a suitable candidate of a Day of Remembrance and insists on making Thug Day official, it should authorize all public safety officers to stay home that day, so that the Honored Criminal's peers can have the day to celebrate by breaking the same laws that he did without being harassed by law abiding, selfless heroes who keep your children safe!

What a disgraceful abuse of power by the SFBOS. To have the temerity to call for a Day of Remembrance for a common criminal, while never suggesting the same for our dedicated men and women in uniform. You are all a disgrace to your office.

The City of San Francisco should be ASHAMED of themselves! I am shocked and appalled that the city would sink so low. This shows a lack of respect to law enforcement. I will be crossing San Francisco off of my list of places to visit.

It's wrong to commemorate a death caused by police until the facts are known.
