The Supervisors never have a day of remembrance for law enforcement when they die in the line of duty. The recent stabbing of a CHP officer shows how dangerous edged weapons are. Stop the issue cold by giving officers Tasers

I saw the video. Great job SFPD! Showed great restraint and tried less lethal force. Let's think outside the box.....how about people just obey the law and the police won't come in contact with you.

The quiet majority is repulsed by these protestors hijacking our world. It's tragic he would not follow directions and created this situation. Investigations and change will happen. A "formalized" day of remembrance is not acceptable. His family has every right to mourn, like every family who encounters a tragedy. A day of public remembrance is not what the world needs. He was no Martin Luther King.

Let us honor and protest a righoutous persons name and not someone committing a felonious or any other offense in violation of a law.

This is outrageous. No honor in this human's actions, so why would we honor him once he has passed? Outrageous divisive actions by these backwards Supervisors

What the hell is wrong with you? When your repeated actions to chase-off career officers (into early retirement), or scare away any potential future cops, is complete, who is going to answer all those calls YOU ARE NOT WILLING to handle? Due to your personal insecurities--which make you believe politically correct gestures like these are effective--you have forgotten rules of basic human nature...weakness invites more strife. Don't give into what you perceive is placating bullies.

Politicians! Bowing to political pressure in a climate, fueled by criminals and their outspoken family members. Complete disregard for anyone but themselves and the future of their career. Does this board of supervisors remember fallen officers in May every year? Do they remember the fallen brethren firefighters? No, of course not. They should be thanking their public safety people every day for keeping them and their city safe. What about the most recent victim of this predator? What about all the victims before that one? Any thought of what a day of remembrance for that waste of flesh might do to those people and their families? I am so disgusted by this. It makes it even worse that not one of them had the courage to stand up and say "This is wrong!" What a bunch of lemmings! They are no better than the useless excuse for a human being that they are remembering.

A day of remembrance for a predator? I've seen some absurd political moves by council/commissioner entities but this has to rank in the top 2. Let's also have a Retard day to remember the commissioners passing this proposal. That's not offensive!

Disgrace to Law enforcement to give this criminal a day to never forget him. Pathetic and the board should be fired
What an embarrassment to law enforcement.
Embellishing criminal behaviour as honorable suffocates common sense.
