This shows one of the many failures of the idiots on San Francisco's Board of Stupidvisors!

I am extremely disturbed that the City politicians value the lives of some people more than others. It is shameful that they refuse to acknowledge the sacrifices made by those who gave all in their protection of the City and its residents.

As a retired member of SFPD I am shocked that criminality is rewarded and that our danger is trivialized by politicians who have never had to defend themselves and have armed bodyguards. Please pander elsewhere.

I concur with President Martin Halloran. This is absurd recognizing a criminal and gang member. Pure lunacy.

To honor a felon is a slap in the face to all law enforcement officers who risk their lives on a daily basis.

This police action should be investigated, but Woods had already attacked someone. Honoring him with a citywide day of remembrance seems like a slap in the face to the innocent person he slashed with a knife.

It's appalling that the SF Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to support a violent gang member, while turning their back on the police. The police did nothing wrong.

Since ALL lawful weapon deployments are the result of non-compliance; 'Taser'-type weapons can prove to be life savers insomuch as they afford Officers an additional level before employing lethal force - time and situationally determined. Mr. Woods, as unrepentant felon and gang member (e.g; avowed enemy of society), failed to desist in his machinations as threat to life to all present and was subjected to lethal force ONLY AFTER all other applications had been patiently administered. Mr. Woods is not the person of laud that a "Day of Rememberence" suggests. Such recognition serves only to 'cheapen' past and future honrariums presnted to those much [actually ] deserving. Respectfully yours...

This is disrespectful to all of those who have served our country and community in a positive manner and have sacrificed themselves for others and have earned a day of remembrance. Very shameful on your behalf.

A complete lack of common sense and good judgment as usual for the S.F. Board of Stupidvisors.

For everyone that is killed is there going to be a day for ALL? Supervisors are nobody else should be able to make decision like this. I am black myself and the officers could have handle this situation different but nobody can Monday morning quarter unless you where there. Decision are made in a slept second some are good and some bad but we have to deal with it. It's a part of life and the job.

All he had to do was drop the knife.

Sad day. How could you even think about honoring a felon with a knife? How many people would he need to stab before deadly force was justified?

If he would follow police instructions he would not have been shot p.s didnt he attempt to murder someone by stabbing them. Law and order all the way
