While the death of Mario Woods, was in my opinion, the result of police ineptitude, a day of remembrance is out of line. We have not had a day of remembrance for police officers killed in the line of duty - why would we do this for Mr. Woods??

If you're dumb enough to exhibit a knife when those in authority have guns and order you to drop it then you're get what you deserve. Enjoy hell.

While I believe in my heart the police were out of line in the solution to the situation that day, I do not support a day of remembrance for Mario Woods.
For the fallen police officers of this city, we do not honor them and/or their family with a day of remembrance for their senseless deaths when they happen.

As the daughter of a retired SF Police Officer, I find it offensive and disrespectful to honor the death of a person that threatened the lives of both the citizens of the City and County of San Francisco and the hard working officers who put their lives on the line to protect those citizens.

As the wife of an SFPD officer, I cannot and will it support this "day of rememberance." What an absolute slap in the face to all law enforcement, their families and supporters.

How embarrassing to have the Great City of San Francisco represented by a Board of Supervisors with such poor decision making ability. Honor the SFPD Officers who do a dangerous job every day and night. Many have given their lives! Don't honor a career criminal!
