This is an absurd day of remembrance! How about the person that Mario woods stabbed or the other people that he victimized ..... I guess their lives don't matter. The city supervisors should be ashamed!

Retired Commander SFPD, this is not the answer to problem of questionable police actions. The community needs to made more aware of the complexities of law enforcement's inability to cope physiologically challenged individuals. The apparent lack proper training and lack of accountable field supervision is the real issue.

To have a day of remembrance for a convicted felon is not only ludicrous but troubling...stop pandering to the masses who protest and protect the integrity of humanity...lets instead honor the brave men and women who "Protect and Serve"..these are the true heroes of society not the low lifes that force them to do what is necessary to "Protect and Serve"

I wish I could say this was unbelievable, but nowadays, politicians have no limits. It is disgraceful to every law abiding citizens that their city leaders have chosen to honor a felon. Every single one of the Supervisors should be removed stat!

S.F. city leaders need to screw their heads on right. This is undeniably the wrong thing to do, but then it lives up to the sad state of affairs the S.F. politicians have cultivated over the years.

Please, let's not keep sentimentalizing known violent career criminals who commit felonies with knife enhancements. We need to honor the many police who risk their lives everyday protecting all communities.

This is completely unacceptable. Society no longer wants to be responsible for their actions.

I assume with the unprovoked assault and stabbing of a CHP Officer in San Francisco on February 02, 2015, the CCSF Board of Supervisors will no doubt condemn the officer, establish a day to honor the assailant (whom I would surmise has an extensive criminal record, call for a DOJ investigation and demand the resignation of the CHP Commissioner.

My husband is a firefighter our son is a police officer and our other son is a Marine. They each put there lives on the line everyday they go to work. Yet they each wear there uniform proudly and would not hesitate to preform there job proudly. A day of remembrance for a convicted felony is a insult to those who serve. My plans to one day visit San Francisco will now be canceled.
