I am disgusted that the SF BOS would think of honoring this thug.

Outrageous, naïve and politically absurd. I choose not to visit that once great city. Likewise I encourage our sheriffs, members, vendors and partners to refrain visiting the City as tourists, or participate in conventions, events, or gatherings in the City. While some may deem the Council's action foolish or unworthy of comment...take a stand supporting the 900,000 law enforcement personnel that protect our nation 24/7. I hope sheriffs will say no!

Can you not find a real hero to remember? The military and public safety agencies have plenty.

This petition is needed to show the idiots on the SF BOS how stupid and wrong-headed they are with honoring the convicted and violent felon! Such liberal stupidity!!!

How can anyone proclaim a "special" day for a criminal who himself created the entire event that caused him to be shot by SFPD? I feel sorry for the officers who had to deal with this SUSPECT.

It was a tragedy. But he chose his life path. Does not deserve such a day.

If we cannot have a Remembrance Day and an apology for Kate Steinle who died due to our former Sheriff's negligence, then I see no need to remember anyone else either.

And Texas just made Chris Kyle day to honor an American hero. I hope every police officer in that city quits!!!
