Let's have a rememberance day for the law enforcement officers that put their lives on the line every day and try to keep law abiding citizens safe.

The BOS are responsible for the death of Mario Woods. If SFPD officers were authorized to use Tasers, this incident would have ended without the necessity of deadly force. Mr. Woods was the proximate cause of his death, assisted by the ignorance of theBOS!

Let's honor officers that put their lives at risk everyday for all of us. Politicians intent on getting attention by attacking law enforcement are pathetic - we all need to push back.

I never would have thought there would be a day when a government agency in this country voted to honor a criminal. Pathetic!

I strongly disagree with this Day of Rememberance. Let's remember those OFFICERS WHO HAVE GIVEN THE ULTIMATE SACRAFICE!!!!!!!

We should not honor criminals! Police action may have been excessive, but that does not justify honoring a criminal.

What a disgrace to honor criminals over the people that keep us safe.

I will always be proud of SFPD and I love The City, but this BOS decision saddens me. I have attended so many Officers funerals and there are no City days of remembrance for any of them.

Remember what got dude into the mess of his own making: he slashed a man. The PD responded and perhaps protected any number of other victims.

God bless the officers and their families. The SF BOS are so out of touch in their lofty towers and their actions have reached the ridiculous.

"Mario woods day" is extremely offensive to me as a police officer.

I cant' believe that you would honor a career criminal instead of police officers who are killed in the line of duty. You should be ashamed.

No honor for the officers and firefighters who die in the line of duty in SF? No Kate Steinlee remembrance (killed by a illegal immigrant with a stolen gun.) The elected officials have no dignity and no appreciation for the people that put their lives on the line for that city, no honor for the innocent victims, it's really sad.

Honoring a criminal and turning him into a hero, and martyr is just wrong. You don't take a tragic event and try to make it "right" by slapping those in the face who uphold the law and respond to the situations you don't want to deal with yourselves. Stop letting "white guilt" dictate moronic decisions. We cannot change the past, but let's not tarnish our future with poor decisions like this one that is in the table now.
