It is a remarkably sad day when civic leaders decide to honor criminals who prey upon their constituency rather than seek to protect the ones they are elected to serve.

This is a prime example about the "criminal" and who cares about the poor victim. Who elected those nuckleheads?

SF should honor heroes not criminals!

There should never be a Remembrance Day for any convicted criminal in any City, County or State !

So they're honoring this savage animal but not the woman he brutally attacked? I'm utterly in disbelief...

Put yourself in those officers shoes. Quit protecting these evil savages.

You people should be ashamed of yourselves to even consider such a repulsive show of compassion for a savage criminal. I am outraged!!

Retired after 37 years in Ca. Law enforcement. Makes me ashamed. He got what he asked for, and deserved. Shame on San Francisco.

Who speaks for the victims in this City. Certainly not our Board of Supervisors.

What a joke. Why not have Charly Manson Day too. Or better yet a Dan White Day. OJ Day, he grew up in the city. Let's recognize all our criminals, since they have no voice right. STUPID

My wife and I went to San Francisco for our honeymoon 21 years ago. My wife and I go back every year on our anniversary. Now that the City management have shown me such disrespectful decision making I will not be going back. I've cancelled my ongoing reservations and have explained to the hotel staff the reason for my cancellation. Shame on the City council members for approving this travesty!!!!!!!
