Dear San Francisco:
You people are crazy. Honoring a violent felon who committed an assault with a deadly weapon on an innocent person is madness.

Another disgusting & unimaginable decision in SF. Well at least the news media will be happy. This should be enough to encourage all criminals in that area to continue acting like animals and maybe they'll get rewarded too. I feel terrible for the innocent victim as well as the continued "slap in the face" these officers regularly receive for doing their best to keep the citizens safe in SF. These city officials should be ashamed of themselves and removed from office immediately!

The United States should honor the men and women who risk their lives protecting its citizens -NOT criminals.

Our Police is more important. They should have a day for officer not on duty any more. Thank you. No day for that person.

How dare you proclaim such a day, your day can be compared to having a Richard Ramirez day, you remember, the night stalker... how pathetic your city officials are for wanting to celebrate a coward and a common criminal

Why are we forgetting about an innocent victim and praise the criminals that commit crimes and violate peoples rights. Wow, where is this world coming to.

I've always wonder how politicians, lawyers, and judges would feel if the Mario Woods of our society were paroled or released directly into their neighborhoods.
I bet they would change their tune for sure.

Do not honor a criminal. Your efforts to do so only dishonor those who have done good things as well as dishonoring a profession that has given their lives to protect us.

Instead of honoring a criminal with a placard, you should be giving TASERS for your officers to use in order to help them stop violent people while providing safety for the officers to use these options. While the "Feds" come to look at what happened, I hope they take into consideration that the local politicians played a role in this incident by taking a less lethal option from them. Homeless encampments of criminals, stealing, robbing and assaulting tourists that come to your city to visit and you do NOTHING to protect them.
You can count me out and many more people who would normally plan to visit your cities hosting of next years Super Bowl. Not a chance, I wouldn't set foot there. My family and I just booked a California coastal cruise that stops in San Francriminal. We will enjoy cruise ship activities and keep our money out of your hands because our safety is more important than spending money and risking injury, theft or death at the hands of criminals running rampant in your city. A city so dangerous, that a California Highway Patrol Officer, who had her throat slashed while on duty by a homeless criminal is now fighting for her life.
You should all be ashamed of your actions and lack of support for your officers who risk all to try and fight the tide of rising crimes, in run down and filthy areas. Start putting the blame where it belongs on the person who committed the crime and all you city and county officials who blame everyone but the person who chose his outcome and the lack of action on your part!

Commemorate victims, not perpetrators.
