Why honor a criminal? It's an insult to law abiding citizens. What happened to raising your hands when asked to by law enforcement. What happened to that movement?

Why would anyone want to honor a criminal?????? Any politician supporting this should be removed from office!

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of, not to mention a slap in the face of every police (and first responders) who are out there protecting these people.

This is an insult to all police and firefighters that lay their lives on the line for us every day. This is an insult to the City of San Francisco. Shame on our ridiculous Board of Supes for such shameless grandstanding against our police officers.

What a pathetic display by the leadership of a great city. Honoring a thug to appease a view is a weakness by some very weak people

Let's take our country back, our ethics back, our sense of right and wrong. Let's remember who is an asset to society and not a liability.

The shooting is a tragedy, but Mario Woods is no hero.

Are you kidding City of San Francisco? Why would you honor a convicted felon who after committing a crime stabbed someone to get away. How about all our men and women of the Armed Forces who protect the USA and die in the process for your safety? Why would you even consider this an option for Mario Woods? What did he do for San Francisco, for the community or for that matter for the USA. This is a horrible mistake. Honor a hero not a felon.

Prefer to name a day in The City and honor someone who has actually been an asset to the community and set a good example to our youth and all members of our community.
