Disgusting, the whole board should be fired.

Honoring this thug who chose his own fate when he elected to commit a violent act and failed to follow lawful commands is ludicrous. It's a slap in the face to all the courageous men and women of law enforcement who protect and serve in San Francisco.

Certainly does not make a person excited to visit the city. This appears to be another PC issue. Why not stand behind the Men and Women standing in the gap. Just do the right thing!

That they would pass this so called "Day of Remembrance" for a career criminal sickens me. How about a "First Responder Day" instead?!

The board should be ashamed of themselves.

Support your local law enforcement agency not heartless criminals who they work hard to protect you from.

How about a day for the SF CHP officer who was stabbed by a homeless man on feb 2nd???? He was probably afraid to protect himself. At least he gets the money instead of the junkies mom.

There is absolutely no justification for Mr. Woods to be civically honored. Police officers have a difficult job with a specific tool set. In this instance the SFPD used their tools appropriately and judiciously. I am vehemently opposed to any day named for Mario Woods.

The question is "What were you thinking?", and the answer is "you weren't ".

The day of remembrance should be for the victim of the stabbing, not the suspect. Shameful.

What disrespect to all of his victims and their families.
