To assign a day to a person who was a suspect in hurting another human, is a slap in the face to not only police work but also to every law we are told to follow as little kids! While the loss of life is a tragedy in all aspects, to remember a person who may have hurt another with a weapon is wrong. If setting aside a day for mr. Woods is the " correct" thing to do, we should also do the same for Al Capone. Mr. Capone went to jail for tax evasion and not the crimes he was presumed to commit.

I am sorry for his death but he made his choices. hE didn't listen to stop, drop your weapon and what about the person he stabbed just prior to this incident. Sorry no day to honor him.

. I'm not a big fan of cops, but without the expectation of individual responsibility of our citizens and legal immigrants (i'm one) decent law abiding will end up living in a total police state while criminals run free the streets. Shame on the Board of Stupervisors, fire them all.

What qualities or contributions to society did MW possess to receive this honor? None. Shame on the BOS for this poor decision.

It's an unfortunate death but we cannot continue to degrade our police dept in this way. They protect us everyday and they are being forgotten.

San Francisco Board of Supervisors declaration of a day of remembrance for a stabbing suspect and convicted armed robber Mario Woods. Are you people out of your minds? NEXT TIME YOU (board members) NEED HELP, CALL A CRIMINAL! NOT THE POLICE! You all need a mental evaluation!

Mario Woods day is disgraceful. I feel like the world has been turned upside down with this nonsense. We need to stand up and say NO to our supervisors . Work on important issues this city is facing. PLEASE

Change the name to honor all who needlessly died from police action but don't label it after a known criminal. The cops should still be held accountable for the deaths.

I'm no cop lover but this absurd "proclamation" is just disgraceful and PC pandering at its absolute worst. It fuels the perception of "us versus LEO" and is completely unconstructive. And once again makes SF the laughing stock of the country.

A hero is someone who lived their life for others. Honor heroes, not those who are known simply because politicians wish to use a tragic life for political gains.

Not an honorable person who does not deserve to be remembered.
