The Board of Supervisors in San Francisco have really lost their way on this incredibly insensitive motion. To honor a felon who chose to defy lawful authority and forced these officers into making the ultimate choice is unconscionable and irresponsible. The Supervisors and Police Commissioners previous refusal to allow police the option to carry tasers should weigh heavy on their consciences. They are more to blame for this criminal's demise than anyone.

The fact that this was made into a day is rediculous in itself. Honor someone worthwhile. There are plenty to choose from.

San Francisco citizens should be ashamed of themselves and their government. Your support of the criminal element within society is pathetic. The Board of Supervisors are just plain idiots.

Why is it that the media never (NEVER EVER) calls into question the conduct of the suspect, criminal, alleged offender, perpetrator, and always calls into question the conduct of police officers as if they are acting with intent to commit crime? The systems is on its head.

The Council needs to come down and meet the street people that they say that they speak for. Then after they are attacked call the press and say that it never happened or it was the Police Departments fault, which they seem quite good at.

I am sick to my stomach to think our BOS, including Scott Weiner, would create a day of remembrance for such an unworthy cause and person. How about a Remembrance Day for Kate???

As a San Francisco citizen, I am ashamed to be governed by the current Board of Supervisors and Mayor Lee. They have each, and together, allowed themselves to be bullied by anarchist groups who parade around under the guise of civil rights. Their goal is to disarm our valiant enforcers and disrupt a law-abiding society. Sadly, our governing body is so completely uninformed and out-of-touch with what happens daily in SF. A CHP officer was attacked with a knife just days ago and is still hospitalized, yet this group would have you think a man with a knife is a victim and not a threat to anyone. I am likely to die waiting to hear that big loud pop of the BOS pulling its collective head out of its big fat ass.

There's plenty of people who should have a day that doesn't have one? I feel for his mom deeply as I am a mother of a child with special needs as well, but. How do we justify trying to have a day of remembrance for Mario Woods? How about let's push for educating our society about mental health concerns?
