How about having a Remembrance Day for people who have helped the city of San Francisco? Police, Firefighters, teachers, doctors, nurses, volunteers at homeless shelters and so, so many more? Everyday, we have unsung heroes working and volunteering in San Francisco. Mario Woods is NOT one of them.

Disrespectful to all to honor a thug such as Mario Woods! Violent criminals should not be honored in any way!!

This is the definition of crazy! Woods was nothing but a career thug. The world is better off without him! Why are you not honoring the police officers who possibly saved the lives of the bystanders by taking Woods out? I am appalled and I DEMAND you NOT honor this criminal!!

Shame on you BOS! Just because SF is known as a liberal city doesn't mean we should stoop this low! Honoring criminals with a day of rememberance and overlooking the fact there is no such day for officers killed in the line of duty, makes you all look like fools! Officers should boycott July 22 and see how safe the City is.

Have you people lost your minds? You want to hold a day of rememberance for a criminal? What's next a day to remember the Zodiac killer? You are trying to honor a career criminal and for what? Pull your heads out of your ... on this one people.

It is unfortunate what happened to Mario Woods. But I don't believe that making him a martyr by a day of remembrance will aid in reconciliation, I believe it could cause the opposite

No rememberance day for Mario Woods or any criminal, like him. He stabbed innocent victim, and this victim could be me , you , anybody. Please , get back to have 4 supervisors part time, like it was before in San Francisco. Stop paying money to unqualified supervisors , who are supporting each other to get good life. They're a San Francisco problem. San Francisco need to Remove San Francisco " sanctuary city" status. I'm not protecting Police. they're not helping me personally, for 3 years I'm terrorized by criminals, who escape Russia and on Interpol wanted list. Taraval police station , domestic violence victim unit, I can go on and on. Police has to start to work and support San Francisco sitizens . But, NO REMEMBERANCE DAY FOR MARIO WOODS

The supervisors should be ashamed! They're really WRONG on this. Woods is nothing to be honored.

This is absolutely ridiculous to have a Mario Woods day. The San Francisco board of supervisors are a complete joke, and should all be replaced.

This day is a slap in the face for all law enforcement! The SF BOS need to wake up and show respect to those who protect and serve their community - NOT criminals!!!!

Please repeal the Mario Woods Day. He is not a victim and does not deserve a day of remembrance.

As a recent visitor to SF I was appalled at the degree to which the homeless problem is being ignored by elected government. Then to foist the problem, yet again, on to LE to deal with it, pitting social justice advocates against the very people who deal with it directly on a daily basis is totally disingenuous. Instead these officials should be looking to bridge gaps in helping both interests to provide mutual aid to a problem that is clearly out of control and shameful to a great city.
