This is reprehensible, honoring a KILLER ... shame on every person who would condone the assassination of a police officer!

Criminals and criminal behavior should never be honored or glorified. Especially when the SF BOS does not support law enforcement. This is beyond passive aggressive; this is active non-support for law and order in The City. Additionally, the SF BOS' actions do not affect only SF. Because of SF's size and visibility in national and even world media, actions taken reflect on anyone who describes themselves as being from the "San Francisco Bay Area". You do not operate in a vacuum, and not all residents of the region attached to your city's name agree with you.

I'm a law enforcement officer in the state of NC. How can you truly try to set aside a day to honor a thug? I get that he was a human being, and had a family. I'm sorry for the family's grief. But that doesn't exclude the fact that he was a criminal who refused officers orders. Stop uplifting criminals and making them appear as heroes to our children and maybe you'll finally see a decline in crime when they grow up.

Woods was waiting for the bus... with a knife in the pocket... after wounding the man. Who knows what he would do in the bus, but it's high probability that he would continue to behave as criminal... because he is criminal. Many people could be killed or wounded.
If we honor criminals, because their moms didn't do their job to raise good kid, because mom now puts pressure on stupid supervisors' who don't have their opinion... then it's huge problem in the society.

This is disrespectful to every law-abiding citizen and law enforcement nation wide. Shame on you, San Francisco. You are becoming a city that I no longer choose to visit.

Ultimate disrespect to those who are charged to uphold the law! Glorifying criminals instead of peacekeepers. I will never spend a dime in San Francisco if this actually happens.

This is biggest embarrassment to a city government and a utter disrespect to the San Francisco Police Department. Should be voted out of office for such poor decision making.

Our supervisors will do anything to get re-elected!! As a former S.F. teacher who taught for 30 years in the city, I really resent this. Honor some teachers!

Are you kidding me? A special day for someone who was a threat to the public and law enforcement? What is happening to our world, glorify the criminals and criminalize law enforcement? All I can say is WOW!

This is beyond stupid. What about all this fallen Officers, Firefighter and American hero's! They dedicate the life in them to helping others but are constantly overlooked and under fire. What have we learned children? If we get enough cry babies together we can do anything no matter how idiotic......
