As a person born and raised in San Francisco, I am shocked at the decision of the Board of Supervisors to honor a known criminal. I would prefer to have a San Francisco Police Officer and San Francisco Firefighter and San Francisco Teacher Day of Appreciation.

Doesn't deserve any recognition at all. Chief Sur has to stand up against these rabble rousers. Todate, Chief Sur is the best thing that has happened to San Francisco.

I do not believe a decision which our Sups were bullied into passing an active gang member, in & out of being incarcerated, recently stabbing a victim and not adhering to the law should be honored let alone glorified. Now facing homegrown terrorist we need to be proactive and crackdown on crime at all levels!! The Supervisors and D.A.'s have a due diligence to protect its citizens and that is what the police department did!!

I fully support the SFPOA and demand that the Board of Supervisors rescind their vote to honor Mario Woods. Honoring a slain fleeing felon who refused to comply with lawful orders to drop his weapon is not an example to the children of San Francisco. I guess the Supervisors want to encourage this behavior.

We need to honor our fallen Officers not the criminals. Your way of thinking is not only offensive to every Police Officer but defies logic.

No one who kills a law-enforcement officer either on or off duty should be released from prison. You politicians need to send a message that you support law-enforcement not disrespected like that criminal. Do the right thing and keep this terrorist Of the law in prison till he dies.

It is wrong for the city and other lawmakers to celebrate the life of a convicted felon and gang member because he was killed by police. Instead, let us celebrate the police department for ridding the world of a savage criminal.

Dear SF Board of Supervisors, You have chosen to bow to the pressure of few for your own relief, but to the detriment of every officer dedicated to serving your city. Only days ago you have seen the dangers face through the violent stabbing of a CHP officer in yourcity. You alone have added to the number of officer involved shooting by tepearedly turning down a request for electronic stun devices, a device that may have prevented the loss of lives. So, stand tall and turn you fingers back toward yourselves, for you and your rainbow world attitudes are to blame.

What's next, a "day of remembrance" for the 9/11 terrorists? When will the the SF BOS pull their collective heads out of their asses?

23+ years in Law Enforcement and I'm appalled at City Leaders glorifying a criminal.
They have violated their oath to the citizens and should be censured.

Is SF in the business of making Martyrs out of people who perpetrate crimes? Will the SF BOS also pass a unanimous resolution to stop the battle against ISIL? What else will this BOS encourage??? You want to know why SF society is in shambles??? Look at our BOS!

My family and I will not spend any money visiting such a backwards thinking city such as San Francisco. To honor a criminal with a day of remembrance, displays the victim mentality that is infecting this country. There are no words I can think of to equate this level of stupidity to the degree it deserves.

This whole idea of honoring a criminal is disgraceful.
He has a criminal record
