That is such BS, esp since July 22 is the anniversary of the shooting death of a beloved Hayward officer Scott Lunger. I'm outraged!!!!

This is appalling that the city would even think of doing this.

It's funny that SF would think about creating a day for criminals.

It is disgusting that a criminal who hurt people would even be considered to be honored in such a way

No need for this, Mario Woods and people like him are the problem with society and do not deserve recognition of this kind. The police officers involved made the correct decision by protecting themselves and insuring they would go home safe to their families that night. All the hardworking people who do not commit violent crimes and their families are not served by this misguided action from the Board Of Supervisors. It is about time our elected officials stand up for what is right and stop playing games like this that are only designed for publicity. The majority of the public who play their salaries and give them their votes do NOT approve. Thank you!

This is a disgrace to our law enforcement community and the population that stands behind them. Officials should be ashamed of themselves.

We have so many heroic officers and they dont get acknowledge in any way at all.
We have a felon, who didnt care who he stabbed, and he gets an honorary day.
Something is def wrong with our system.
