What about the SFPD officer that was gunned down in the streets of SF on duty? Where does SF draw the line on who can get a day? They reward criminal behavior....that poor police department is doomed.

Every City resident should never vote on any mayor or supervisor ever again. I never do. I pencil someone in Board of carpetbaggers are so self serving

This is ridiculous!! Then we should have that for every single person that has been killed.

Sending the wrong message! Let's face the facts San Francisco you already don't have enough police. quite the PC BS. This guy was brandishing a knife and hadn't he stab someone already?

Although his death was tragic. It does not warrant a day of remembrance.

This is perhaps the most insane thing the BOS have ever done. Honor a person who just stabbed another person, really? What do the parents of the stabbing victim say, feel about this.

Sgt. Scott Lunger. This is who I'll celebrate on January 26. I will NEVER celebrate a thug and violent gang member like Mario Woods.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Appalling that the BOS would do this! I can think of hundreds of people more deserving of a day of rememberance. This career criminal does not deserve a day in his name.

A day of remembrance for a violent, recidivist criminal is an insult to every decent, law-abiding citizen in San Francisco, and every police officer who has ever put on a uniform and answered a call for help.

Wow, Sf wants to glorify a thug who refused Police orders to drop the knife after hurting someone else with the knife and was subsequently shot! So much more to post here. This Remembrance Day stinks!

Whose ludicrous enough to want to have a day of rememberance for a violent career criminal whose final act was to attempt to murder someone by stabbing them with a knife? This is Appalling..We honor those who have given their life for others not try to take the life of others. Shame on the Mayor and Board of Stupidvisors..They should all be fired .. How can they explain their actions to the victims of this mans crimes??

Get your priorities in line, SF supervisors. You're rooting for the wrong team.

This is what happens when political agendas become more important than morals.

Sara, WE stand with you, your father Sgt. Lunger does deserve better than this.
