This is a disgrace to the men and woman of SFPD. Why would anyone think this is a good idea?

Since when do we honor criminal gang members. If the police tell you to drop your weapon, then you should drop your weapon if you don't your only asking for trouble and you suffer the consequences.

I'm ashamed to be a native San Franciscan knowing our BOS would rather honor a convicted criminal over ANY police officer and / or firefighter so have his order life defending the city I love so dear......ashamed to be a Native!!!!

Please do NOT honor a criminal (i.e. Mario Woods). If you need to honor someone, please honor the wo/men of law enforcement who put their lives on the line every day. Call it Law Enforcement Officer's Day. I'd be happy to honor that !

It is shocking that people with so little life experience are elected to the B.O.S. Are they so naive that they actually believe in this theater, or are they just pandering to the vocal children in their districts? Either way it is pathetic and embarrassing for them, and simply unacceptable to the average, law abiding taxpayer. This temper tantrum by the B.O.S. and the other criminal advocates is so offensive I am at a loss for words.

No way in anyway should we be honoring a criminal. He made his choice by not dropping the knife.
