How can you give a convicted felon who just stabbed someone and was loaded on drugs a day of honor. Sickening. Spineless politically correct cowards!

I'm glad the board of supervisors think it's a good idea to dedicate a day to a criminal. What a JOKE! Next petition-- "San Francisco Police Department Day." Oh wait, that wouldn't happen because they are just doing their jobs.

The more SF is burdened with these disingenuous kind of politicians engaging in crass patronization the harder it is to admit being a native of a once great City.

His death is regretful but was the result of his felonious behavior. He does not deserve to be honored.

As I am sorry that he has passed, he did not display any attribute that was worth honoring.

How can you disregard the sacrifices made by public servants who give up their lives for others, and honor this individual who had no regards for anyone's safety, including you and your families' own.

Let's have a victim's day of remembrance instead of a man who was "trying to turn his life around" by slashing people with a knife.

San Francisco Board of Supervisors should be ashamed. I'm ashamed that you honor a criminal and ignore the heroes that have died in the line of duty to make you safe.

What a dishonor to the man who was stabbed by Mario Woods . Woods was still holding the knife with the victims blood still on it when he was shot . That was attempt of murder and assault with a deadly weapon. You want to honor that behavior ? The police shot him because he was trying to leave the scene after they tried numerous times to get him to release the weapon and get down. He didnt cooperate and tried to leave the scene. Officers didnt want to use deadly force but had to or face a serious law suit if he got away and injured or worse killed another person after. The Police carry that burden of responsibility to maintain Justice for the man who was stabbed. It is absurd to even consider a day of honor for Woods. Imagine if the man who was stabbed was YOUR Son YOUR daughter or YOUR spouse . Would you want that man being honored ? I for sure would Not. Mario Woods is not the victim here , the man he stabbed and attempted to Murder IS THE ONLY VICTIM IN THIS TRAGIC STORY.

Please do NOT honor a criminal (i.e. Mario Woods). If you need to honor someone, please honor the wo/men of law enforcement who put their lives on the line every day. Call it Law Enforcement Officer's Day. I'd be happy to honor that !
