Why would you pander to Black Lives Matter and other such groups by giving a criminal a remembrance day. Jan 22nd will now be Back the Blue t-shirt day in San Francisco and all over. I am tying of hearing about city, state and federal governments kissing but when the police are forced to shoot a black man with a weapon or one that goes for that weapon. I thought the policy was to NOT negotiate with terrorists.

Honor the dedicated officer who have fallen in the line of duty, before you honor someone with a criminal record

This is a slap in the face of all law abiding citizens,! A Day of remembrance should be for Law Enforcement, Firefighters, fallen Military, Law Abiding Citizen who have gone above and beyond what is expected. This day of remembrance is an embarrassment,! It makes the community & it leaders look like absolute fools!

Why would anyone feel that it is right to honor a validated gang member and attempted murderer?

I can't believe politicians these days. Trying to make a martyr out of a criminal. His actions forced their actions plain and simple

San Francisco has again embarrassed itself to the world by claiming a day of remberance to a common criminal, a stabbing suspect, an individual that didn't have a HS diploma, an individual that was identified as being a gang member by the Courts, etc.....

Why would we honor an ex-con who had just stabbed someone? He would be alive if he just dropped the knife.....

SF supervisors should be ashamed of themselves for suggesting such a horrible day of rememberance. What about the police officers that put themselves at risk everyday?

How can you even be serious with this type of garbage?!?!?!?!?!
This is an insult, to all of us that have lost family and friends in the service of protecting the citizens of this great Nation.
Glorifying yet another criminal whilst you vilify our officers.
How dare you!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why would you remember a thug that stabbed someone and refused to comply with officers? I believe K9 officers would be perfect for these situations, and had he simply dropped the knife, it would not have happened. His life is not worth any more or less than an officer's life, serving the people,

Woods chose his answer to justice. He was not murdered! He was caught and attempts were made to bring him to justice for the callous criminal acts that he was being accused of. Instead of letting the justice system do its job he chose to defy police and in doing so force to police to take the action they took to preserve the safety of the public and themselves. Apparent;y in the end justice was done and we should not be celebrating this criminal!

We can all have differences of opinion regarding the SFPD's use of force in attempting to arrest Mario Woods. However I would hope we could all recognize that Mario Woods the man had a tarnished record at best. He is therefore far less deserving of 'a day of remembrance' than many other members of the community who have likewise passed under tragic circumstances, yet were offered no similar 'day of remembrance' by the BoS.

July 20th was the greatest day in the history of the world. Man set foot on another world outside of Earth. And we are supposed to remember July 22 for some criminal who stabbed another human being for reasons unknown.
I believe we have misplaced our priorities and instead of remembering real Americans, we are supposed to remember an individual that has contributed NOTHING.
